Certified Nuke Training in DaLian, China

China’s first certified Nuke Training was successfully held at Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in DaLian, China. Based on Nuke 6, Certified Nuke Trainers from Beijing HappyView Information Consulting Co. LtdMr Huang Liang 黄亮 and Guo Yanjun 郭彦君 was on location to deliver this course. Although they are based in Beijing, Beijing HappyView Information Consulting Co. Ltd brought their classroom to many on-site locations within China. Bringing certified training to different parts of the country.

The attendees were teachers and students that came from Film and TV Studio of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. With a class size of 15, two certified trainers were on site to make sure that everyone in class were given ample attention. This hands-on course is based on Fatbars Limited Training Services : Digital Compositing with Nuke 101 with training materials written and created for this course. By attending this certified course, the attendees received an official completion certificate from The Foundry Training Central Asia.

This five-day, hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Nuke. Nuke has a unique channel based approach; state-of-the art image based keyer; full 3D compositing including the capability to import geometry, lights, cameras and shaders; and supports stereoscopic imaging. Through customized visual effects shots created for this course, students will learn to combine live action with computer-generated elements, key blue and green screen shots, combine motion tracking data into Nuke’s 3D compositing world and create multi-layer composites using Nuke’s node tree organizational structure.

We know looking is often not enough so after our main sessions, as you enjoy a leisurely beer and socialise, we’re giving you the opportunity to take a look at our products in more detail.  We’ll have demo stations set up so that you can see NUKE,OCULAMARI and our new AE plug-ins CAMERATRACKER and KRONOS 5.0 up close and personal.  In addition GenArts will be giving you a closer look at Sapphire for NUKE.

Nuke and Ocula at Broadcast Asia 2010

The Foundry Arms Singapore Schools With NUKE

singaporeA number of specialist VFX educational centres in Singapore and across Asia are investing heavily in Nuke and NukeX. With Nuke site licenses in place at award winning VFX houses worldwide and the demand for Nuke Operators increasing, four educational institutes in Singapore including Ngee Ann Polytechnic and ITE College Central will offer Nuke training next semester.  In addition, creative training facilities in Hong Kong and Korea will offer specialist Nuke training too.

Singapore’s ITE College Central have invested in 67 Nuke seats and Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film and Media Studies has acquired NukeX licenses for its Diploma in Digital Effects course, where Nuke will be used as the compositor of choice. Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media and New York University TischAsia’s School of the Arts will also provide specialist Nuke training to their students.

In addition, the Korea Creative Content Agency who specialise in courses for broadcasting and game creation and The City University of Hong Kong have also purchased Nuke for their specialist VFX and creative training facilities.

Certified Nuke Training in Singapore

Singapore’s first certified Nuke Training was successfully held at Media Village in Singapore. Based on Nuke 6, Certified Nuke Trainer,  Ms Janice Tso was on location to deliver this course. The attendees came from Singapore and Malaysia, from both the educational and post production sectors. This five day hands-on course is based on Fatbars Limited Training Services : Digital Compositing with Nuke 101 with training materials written and created for this course. By attending this certified course, the attendees received an official completion certificate from The Foundry Training Central Asia.

The certified online exam was also successfully attempted by the attendees. By passing certification exams, they became an Certified Nuke End User for Level 101. All successful candidates are now listed in the official The Foundry Training Central Asia Website.

The Foundry Unveil MARI at NAB

The Foundry are collaborating with Weta Digital to bring to market their internally developed and highly regarded 3D texture painting technology MARI.

Filmart 2010

Fatbars was at Filmart 2010 where they showcase the certified Nuke training courses as well as their Stereoscopic post production. This year, Filmart 2010 showcased 3D moviemaking buzz. Thanks to Zalman and The Foundry, Fatbars showcased Nuke Ocula Technology Demo directly, using Zalman’s 3D monitors and 3D glasses.  Mr Matt Plec from The Foundry shown in the photos below.
